Garbage Disposals

Disposal problems usually mean one of a few things — jammed, worn out, or leaking. Most are quick to fix or replace, and we can usually handle it the same day.

What you might be seeing

Disposal humming but not spinning
Won't turn on at all — no sound, no response
Making a loud grinding or rattling noise during use
Leaking under the sink from the disposal or its connections
Draining very slowly after running the disposal

What we do

Unjam and reset

A humming disposal is often just jammed. We check this first — sometimes it's a five-minute fix.

Component diagnosis

If the motor, switch, or wiring is failing, we diagnose before recommending replacement.

Full disposal replacement

We remove the old unit and install a new one sized and matched to your drain setup.

Drain connection check

Slow draining after disposal use often means the drain line or p-trap needs attention.

How it works

We diagnose the issue first. You'll hear your options and cost before any work begins. Exact pricing depends on the issue, access, parts, and scope of work — no surprises. Service evaluation starts at $59 and will be waived when you approve the work.

Common questions

My disposal just hums — is it completely broken?

Probably not. A humming disposal is usually jammed. You can try inserting a 1/4" hex key into the bottom of the unit and manually rotating it to free the jam, then press the reset button on the bottom.

Can I run the disposal with the dishwasher going?

They share the same drain in most homes. Running the disposal before the dishwasher finishes draining is fine — but avoid running both simultaneously if you're already having slow-drain issues.
